The 6 TubeBuddy alternatives

1. vidIQ

Best for: An all-round replacement with AI ideas and research

The vidIQ browser extension adds scorecards and research inside YouTube and YouTube Studio. The web app adds keyword research with demand and competition, competitor and outlier tracking, Daily Ideas, AI Coach, thumbnail generation, and MCP access for AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude.

Compared with TubeBuddy: vidIQ has no dedicated A/B testing tool (YouTube Studio's native test covers this), and it puts research and optimization ahead of catalog-wide bulk editing.

vidIQ vs TubeBuddy

2. YouTube Studio

Best for: Free A/B tests and first-party channel data

YouTube's own dashboard can A/B test up to three titles and thumbnails on eligible long-form videos, then shows every viewer the version with the most watch time. Its Trends tab surfaces top searches, breakout videos and content gaps for Shorts, and Ask Studio is a built-in AI assistant for ideas, channel insights and draft feedback.

Compared with TubeBuddy: Studio only covers your own channel. It doesn't track competitor channels, and its search insights show relative audience interest rather than keyword scores. A/B testing needs advanced features and works on desktop only.

3. Viewstats Pro

Best for: Outlier, competitor and thumbnail research

Viewstats, built by the team behind MrBeast's analytics, offers free public channel stats and a free Chrome extension. Pro adds Competitors, Outliers, Alerts, Collections for previewing packaging, and Thumbnail Search.

Compared with TubeBuddy: Its published Pro feature list centers on research, without the keyword scoring or bulk editing that TubeBuddy offers. Business plans start at $249 a month.

4. 1of10

Best for: Outlier search plus AI thumbnails and titles

1of10 finds videos that beat their channel's average by 10x or more, with thumbnail search, trending formats and competitor tracking. Monthly credits cover an AI thumbnail generator, an AI video editor, an AI title and idea generator, and an Optimize tool. Research tools don't use credits.

Compared with TubeBuddy: Its pricing page lists no keyword search-volume tool or bulk editing, and Pro ($828 billed yearly) costs more than TubeBuddy Legend.

5. Morningfame

Best for: Guided analytics and keyword research on a budget

Morningfame pairs channel analytics with a keyword research tool and Niche Spy. Both plans include every feature. Basic limits full keyword research and Niche Spy access to a 24-hour window every 12 days.

Compared with TubeBuddy: It's invitation only, and its plans list analytics, keyword research and Niche Spy only, with no browser extension, A/B testing or bulk editing.

vidIQ vs Morningfame

6. OutlierKit

Best for: Niche mapping and competitor intelligence

OutlierKit is a credit-based research tool for outlier videos, low-competition keyword ideas, idea scoring and competitor analysis. Pro and Max add Competitor Studio, which maps a whole niche from one channel, plus MCP and API access.

Compared with TubeBuddy: Every action spends credits (a Competitor Studio run uses 50), and its plan lists include no browser extension, A/B testing or bulk editing.

When TubeBuddy is still the better fit

You run A/B tests from TubeBuddy

Legend includes A/B Testing, and YouTube Studio offers its own native test.

You maintain a large back catalog

Legend adds Bulk Find, Replace & Append, Bulk Delete Comments and Bulk Thumbnail Overlays. None of the alternatives on this page publish comparable bulk tools.

You want testing and bulk tools in one plan

The current pricing page advertises Legend at $32.99 month to month or $316.68 billed yearly. It combines A/B testing, research and bulk editing; it no longer publishes a Pro price.

You're an individual creator

TubeBuddy’s creator-license terms restrict Pro, Star and Legend packages to individual creators. It may treat accounts with 50,000 or more subscribers, several channels or three or more channel managers as businesses, which cannot buy these packages.
