Why your banner crops differently on each device
YouTube uses the same banner on computers, phones, and TVs, but it shows differently on each. Wide screens and TVs show more of the image, while smaller screens show less around the center. YouTube’s safe area for text and logos sits in the middle, so keep your channel name, logo, and schedule there.
How to resize your YouTube banner and profile picture
Get your channel art ready for YouTube in three steps.
- 1
Choose banner or profile picture
Pick what you’re working on. Each mode uses YouTube’s current size rules for that image.
- 2
Upload and position your artwork
Drop in your image, then drag and zoom until the important parts sit inside the safe area or the circle.
- 3
Check and download
Review the size checks and device previews, then download a file that’s ready for YouTube Studio.
