The Challenge
Jacob, known as Kiwi Modulars on YouTube, had built his channel to around 13,000 subscribers with creative long-form videos. But growth soon stalled, leaving him unsure how to sustain momentum or scale beyond his early wins. He wanted a strategy that would help him break through the plateau and push toward the silver play button.
The Turning Point
Jacob joined vidIQ’s 1-on-1 coaching program and worked closely with his coach, Braedon. Together they focused on:
- Mastering Hooks and Retention – especially for Shorts, learning how to grab attention immediately and keep viewers watching.
- Using Shorts as Growth Engines – several Shorts went viral, hitting 100K, 400K, 800K, and even 1M+ views, each one pulling in waves of new subscribers.
- Roadmapping Long-Form Content – Jacob gained clarity on which “out-of-the-box” ideas to pursue and how to package them strategically for maximum reach.
This combination of short-form virality and long-form focus gave him both visibility and staying power.
